FLASH FICTION FEATURE: "Tattoos Are For Lovers"
It was written on the body. The skin of a sentence, the pulse of a word. A story inhabited. From the skunk mane that hung down his neck, flowing through the curve of the vertebrae, and settling deep into his Creole hips, was the spirit of what they call "a character." And a character he’d written too. Somewhere between the eyebrow and the parentheses hugging his lips, I read the man. And he was written something like this—

I’m not a man. I’m a lover. My skin is paper parchment, graffitied at my will. My choice, you hear? I’m a wild one.
